In
an effort to bring the FIRST experience to students around the world Team
341 has developed partnerships with schools in Singapore, UK, South
Africa, Denmark, and Canada.
Singapore
In April a Wissahickon HS Robotics Team member traveled to Singapore
as an ambassador of our team and school. Her mission was to help establish
an exchange program with Chij Secondary and Millennia
Institute/Cedar Girls Secondary. This partnership will centered
around the principles of FIRST.
As a result of this effort, both Singapore schools
have entered in the FIRST VEX Challenge, anew
initiative lead by FIRST and Radio Shack.Through a generous equipment
grant from Radio Shack & FIRST, Team 341 will be mentoring these
teams at the FIRST Championship Event in Atlanta, GA on April 21 st
as they participate in their very first competition. Our team, school
and community would like to wish our new partners the best of luck in
Atlanta.

Team 341 Mentors International Teams
Helping teams get started in the FIRST Robotics Competition has always
been a major goal of the Wissahickon Robotics Program. Expanding this
effort beyond our borders Team 341 has developed mentoring partnerships
with FIRST LEGO League schools in UK, South Africa, Denmark, and Canada.
These teams are highly interested in expanding their programs to include
the FIRST Robotics Competition and have called upon Team 341 forhelp.
As a first step beyond email contact, Wissahickon will meet with these
teams in Atlanta and teach them how to organize and operate an FRC team.
A major strategy for helping these teams will include our newly developed
DVD called “Team in a Box”. This comprehensive video is
organized to help new teams get started in FRC. For further information
on “Team in a Box” check the main page of our
site .
Team 341 Helps School Children in Iraq
This year, army sergeant Ken Pedigree, a Wissahickon graduate, notified
us about the conditions in Iraqi schools. We were inspired by his story
to collect school supplies throughout our district. Team 341 donated
an estimated 200 school supplies for Iraqi students and a total of $800
was raised overall.
