Team in a Box // Information
The Team in a Box project was created in April of 2004 as an effort to raise awareness about what FIRST® is and guide rookie teams through their inaugural year. The content included on this DVD is updated every two seasons and is currently in its 5th version. Released in 2010, version 5.0 includes an exciting new feature – closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
Starting a FIRST® robotics team seems overwhelming at first, but it is well worth the time and effort for all parties involved. Team in a Box will help guide you through the different phases of a year in FIRST®. It includes in-depth explanations such as: what happens when the game is first released, how to survive the six-week build season, what happens at a competition, and what to do during the off-season. Team organization is also important when starting a team. The DVD includes tips on how to arrange team sub-groups, give demonstrations, and how to get parents involved with the program. After the team is organized, it is time to get to work. Team in a Box offers helpful tips on how to successfully build a robot and how to prepare award submissions.
