The Philadelphia Regional wrapped up last Saturday – and what a Saturday it was! Miss Daisy and her crew won the Philadelphia Regional with the help of her allies, Team 84 Chuck, and Team 365 MOE. The finals were nail-biters that should definitely be watched if you weren’t there. Daisy lost the first finals match against Teams 103, 272, and 834 but miraculously went on to win the next two. Miss Daisy would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to Teams 84 and 365 for being such great partners and congratulate teams 103, 272, and 834 for being such great competitors. It is interesting to note that Miss Daisy won the Philadelphia Regional with Team 84 in 2007 as well. Daisy’s official record now for all matches played is 24 wins, 6 losses, and 2 ties and we placed as #2 seed at Philadelphia.
As if all of this excitement weren’t enough, there was more to come during the awards ceremony. Not only did Daisy get to walk through the judge’s line for being the champions of the regional, but we were also presented with the Philadelphia Regional Chairman’s Award, the highest honor in FIRST®. This is now Daisy’s fourth win of this award at the regional level. We are excited to put our best foot forward and compete for the National Chairman’s Award in two weeks.
Miss Daisy would like to especially thank the many volunteers that help make the Philadelphia Regional one of the best in the nation. The Eppley Family, Judy Vandy, the Troy family, the Perrottos, the Larocks, Carol Kauffman, Pete Keiselbach, Melissa Thiessen, the Rizzo brothers, Dave Greenley, Rich Kressly and the list could go on and on…
We would also like to congratulate Team 2668 Vortex (North Montco Technical Career Center), our former school partner, for their showing on the field and for winning the Rookie All-Star Award. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
