2015 Hatboro Horsham District Competition

dancingFor the fourth year in a row, Miss Daisy attended the Hatboro-Horsham District Competition in Horsham, PA from February 27th to March 1st. Hatboro is a well-loved competition where teams unveil their new robots, play on a real field for the first time, and socialize with other teams. Team 341 enjoyed the competition as much as ever, but not without some difficulties.

Unfortunately, the robot did not perform as expected on the field. While we did not score as expected, we could see what improvements needed to be made with both the robot and driving strategies. We were ranked in thirty-first place, and picked by Team 357 and Team 486. Our performance during the playoffs improved and by the time we were defeated during semi-finals, the robot was better able to stack totes.

Despite our struggles on the field, there were numerous benefits of attending the competition. First, new members got their first taste of a season competition. Second, our new pit display was revealed, receiving rave reviews. Lastly, the pit crew worked closely with new mentors to ensure that the robot was running as smoothly as possible. Every competition is valuable, and Miss Daisy always relishes the opportunity to make improvements and get more experience under our belts.

Thank you to the volunteers for helping to make the Hatboro-Horsham District Competition so enjoyable!
