With the end of Build Season quickly approaching, the team’s competition robot is nearly assembled. The intake and arm subsystems have meshed together flawlessly, as only a few minor adjustments need to be made. Saying the team is excited in an understatement; everyone is ecstatic to see a completed robot in all its glory after their many hours of diligent work. With all but the climber subsystem fully assembled, the programming subteam will now flush out any imperfections with autonomous and robot movement. Members of the electrical subteam now work on wiring everything up so that Miss Daisy is ready for game time!
The team now looks to construct an exact replica of the robot: Miss Daisy’s twin. Why make another robot you ask? A twin allows the team to test possible improvements before making changes to the competition robot and gives the drive team invaluable time to practice before matches. So far, the twin’s drivebase was assembled two weeks ago and the arm is nearly completed. Hopefully the team will have the twin up and running before the end of next weekend!
The media subteam is hard at work as they take pictures to make Miss Daisy look pretty for Valentine’s Day. They also ensure no aspect of the team goes overlooked, making sure to snap photos around the clock. Media is also constantly working on developing videos for each of Miss Daisy’s subsystems along with an extremely promising reveal video. With the impending deadline to submit the team’s Dean’s List award entries approaching this week, two of the team’s most established writers type away furiously to capture the best aspects of the two nominees.
With Valentine’s Day coming this week, the team is falling in love with Miss Daisy! I cannot deny that my eyes get misty when I see her intake running. With that said, a Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone reading, and this blog post will end with an interesting remix of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You.
